Kurt Polter was born in 1914 in Kassel, Germany. His love of art kept him from entering the family business and he enrolled instead at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris. His mentor was Yves Brayer and he worked with him for eight years. In the sixties he moved to USA. He is known for his genre, florals and children. Kurt Polter has exhibited in major galleries in USA, France, Italy and South America. The artist had a great following of important people that collected his works, some of whom were: Merle Oberon, Charlton Heston, William Wyler, Esther Williams, Princess Paula de Liege, Peter Ustinov, Prince Moulay Abdoula, Mrs. John Winslow, Contessa B’Miani, among others.
